Nox Sensor

How does Nox Sensor work:

The working principle of Nox sensor is based on chemical reactions and electrochemical principles. When the engine burns diesel, it produces exhaust emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx). NO is the main source of atmospheric pollutants.


The Nox sensor detects the content of NO and oxygen in the exhaust gas by inserting a detection head into the exhaust pipe, digitizes the content of NO and oxygen through the backend controller, and sends it to the ECU through the CAN bus. The ECU will control the engine intake volume, fuel injection volume, and urea injection volume used to neutralize NO based on the content of nitric oxide.

Controlling the engine intake and fuel injection can adjust the fuel injection rate, thereby achieving more precise combustion control. And urea solution is sprayed into the smoke in the engine exhaust pipe at the nozzle. Under high temperature and pressure, urea will decompose into ammonia and isocyanates. Then, ammonia will react with NOx to generate nitrogen and water vapor, so that the exhaust emissions of diesel vehicles can meet the national emission standards.
